The Starfish is now accepting nominations for its newest program, “Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25”.

The program has been created in order to highlight and showcase Canada’s emerging environmental leaders, and to promote making a difference in communities, ecosystems, and abroad. The final publication will present a fresh look at a group of individuals who have clear passion and dedication to a worthy cause.

Criteria for these awards will be based on dedication to the environment, past experiences, passion for making a difference, and any creative strategies employed to make a difference. A panel of environmental experts from McMaster and the surrounding community will be selecting recipients of this award.

In order to be considered, nominees must submit to us;

  • An updated resume, highlighting all environmental initiatives the nominee has taken part of;
  • A brief (100-200 word) nomination and recommendation from a peer, co-worker, or employer. The capacity in which the nominee and nominator worked together must be clearly outlined within the letter.

Nominees must also be under the age of 25, and must reside in Canada.

All applications may be sent to thestarfish2010@gmail.com, with “Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25” in the Subject Line. E-mails may be sent in by either the nominee or nominator. Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis and may close at any time. Nominations will be considered as they are received, and nominees may expect an interview after the nomination has been submitted.
