Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in our Annual General Meeting. Hear about our work in 2013 and plans for the year ahead, review our finances, and vote on new board directors and bylaw changes.
Lead the way at SFU and take THE NEXT STEP for a more sustainable campus. Come to our Annual General Meeting on Monday, February 24, at 5PM. Free vegetarian and vegan food will be provided.
Keynote Speaker: Vancouver-based social artist and activist Julien Thomas. An SFU Alumni, Julien helped organize our Western Canada Sustainable Campuses Conference in 2012. Today, he is making change in Vancouver with mobile parkletsand other urban interventions.
Annual Report: Hear about what we’re doing to make SFU a more sustainable campus through student leadership, advocacy and capacity building. Since we’re funded by student fees, you’ll also hear from our auditor and be able to ask questions about our finances.
Board Elections: Students will be selecting new Directors for the 2014-15 term and recognizing the work of our current directors. See below for more information.
Opportunities and Special Guests: Meet representatives from organizations and classes that we help fund and learn about ways to take sustainability leadership on campus.
Run To Be A Board Director:
As a Sustainable SFU member, you have the right to nominate, vote for, or run to be a director of your student society.
Read what our current directors say about their experience leading Sustainable SFU.
To run as a director of the society:
- Read the Director Position Description and the Bylaws of the Society.
- Complete a Director Nomination Form, with signatures from ten currently enrolled SFU students or other members.
- Submit the Nomination Form (and optional 200-word candidate statement) via email to email@example.com.
Elections will take place at the Annual General Meeting on February 24, 2014. Submit your nomination package before February 20th to be included in the meeting agenda package. Late but otherwise complete nominations will be accepted at the meeting.
