Take Back the Wild offers hands-on training for young leaders in engaging and connecting local communities in conservation efforts. This exciting program seeks to identify, connect and engage a new generation of conservation leaders, while educating and empowering participants to take action for their future and their province. Participants have an opportunity to deepen their understanding about endangered ecosystems and current wilderness and ocean protection campaigns while furthering their passion for conservation in B.C.Take Back the Wild launched in October 2012 with 25 participants gathering in Vancouver and subsequently working on conservation projects around the province.
Vancouver: March 7 to 9, 2014 - Applications now available - due Friday, February 14, 2014. Open to participants from across BC.
Take Back the Wild includes leadership training, skills development, cultural exchange, mentorship and support, and networking opportunities. Participants will leave the weekend training with an increased ability to collectively build capacity and expertise in designing and implementing an effective and efficient conservation project. Take Back the Wild participants will be provided with subsequent opportunities to engage in a conservation project of their choice with support from a project mentor, thereby building expertise and leadership throughout B.C.
