The Starfish was involved with an exciting planting session this past weekend at ManoRun Organic Farm in Lynden, Ontario! Our group collaborated with Dr. Myles Sergeant and his group, Trees For Hamilton to get about 30 native trees into the ground.   Dr. Sergeant has a goal of planting native trees throughout the Hamilton community.  Stay tuned for a story with more details about how you can help!

Dear Friends of The Starfish,

"Healing our Hearts & Our Earth" is an event about replenishing the earth through the memory of a loved one who has passed on. It is an obligation for us to not only take care of each other, but also take care of our future generations and our future environment.

That is why we would like to work together to create an annual healing journey library (our healing journey). I'm sure that we have all lost someone very dear to our hearts...we have all felt the pain, the sorrow, and the anguish that comes along with the grieving process.  I truly believe that we can use those feelings to do something positive for ourselves, each other, and most especially for the ones who will always remain in our hearts.

I understand these feelings to be a lot like a seed....we have the power to plant it, water it, nurture it, and use it for the benefit of those around us.

The inaugural event was held on July 6th, 2013 with a turn-out of 30 community members and friends!  We would like to thank each of you for coming out to support this cause.

Looking forward to next year's planting event and many more in the future,

The Starfish Team
