The Starfish Canada: Instagram Guidelines
Several members of The Starfish Canada team will be contributing to the Instagram account from all across the nation. To maintain a cohesive and consistent presence on Instagram, please abide by the following posting guidelines.
We do not want our Instagram to be a depository for random pictures. Be critical when posting a photo and try to tie it back to The Starfish values/persona.
You may use filters to enhance the photos.
Before posting, tag the location and use relevant hashtags.
Be sure to review previous posts to avoid similar photos.
Don’t be afraid to get in the photo! Putting a face to the account helps followers relate.
Post your name at the end of the caption so we know who posted the photo!
Frequency of Activity
Instagram contributors are asked to post at least two times per week. You may use photos you have taken during that week, or photos you have saved from previous occasions.
If you are on our Instagram account, do not hesitate to like other accounts’ photos or follow local accounts. Building this relationship with followers is very important.
We can use videos to thank supporters, personalize the account, or as a call for action. If you are meeting with an influential individual and they have something inspirational/important to say, you may feature them in a 3-10 second video and post on Instagram.
If you have any questions about Instagram or your commitment to posting, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
